Going through old photos I came on this one of my husband. I has done well in local competition. Surprise! It was a snapshot. So I would like your comments. He was 88 at the time. About the only thing I did to it was desaturate his bright red Jacket a bit. It was taken in 2018 with a canon 100-400 L lens, at 100sec at f4.6, at 100mm.

Barbara, This photograph feels honest. It doesn't look over-processed or staged. The wrinkles tell a lifetime of stories, and you wisely resisted smoothing them away. Character is the subject here, and you've respected it. Posted: 08/03/2026 02:10:20

You have a very good portrait of your handsome husband, still looked good at 88. The lighting and the posing are both very good. Sometimes just a casual snap shot is better and certainly looks more natural. Posted: 08/17/2026 20:29:36
