Attached is my photo for this month.
The photo was taken on a bright day around noon. A 24-70mm Nikon lens fitted, with a ND 1000 filter, at 42mm was used. The exposure time was 45s and the aperture f/22. Camera: Nikon D700. The photo was converted to B/W with some adjustments in ON1. Camera on tripod.

Gaetan, there's a lot going on in this image. You have managed to capture four interesting and distinct components: the pier & hut, the foreground rocks (that's also a leading line) the 'almost' glasslike water and the blurred clouds. And even though your title is "The Pier," I wasn't sure of your intent because 80% of the image is negative space that pulls the eye from your subject. One thing for certain you've created a mood (kudos) and if that was your artistic intent, you did it that very well.   Posted: 12/12/2025 22:02:37
Your long exposure made the water very smooth. It is good composition with the bank in the foreground, the pier on the left and the vast open spaces on the right. Having the pier small with all of the negative space on the right has created a very nice landscape image. The sky is not very interesting and even maybe a bit of a distraction with the blur. So, I would make it more a panoramic image and crop off maybe a third to a half off the top.   Posted: 12/14/2025 18:54:54
