The shot was taken handheld with the Nikon D750 fitted with a 28-300mm lens at a focal length of 42mm. The ISO was set at 450,aperture f/25, exposure 1/125s. Shutter priority mode.

Gaetan - the first thing that struck me about your image was the light, which created the mood - just excellent. What bothered me was I thought there was more foreground than was necessary, so I cropped up. I also cropped in from the right as again, there wasn't much visual interest in the real estate to the right of the fence, so I kept the pano format, which emphasizes your great fence line. I also opened the shadows on the tree and the shed and straightened what appears to be a not straight horizon line, I feel this image cants to the right a bit - see my VF   Posted: 07/09/2025 17:49:36

Gaetan, welcome back to the group. This is a nice rural image and the building creates a point of interest. The fence going into the distance helps the image. I do understand that this was a dark day, but the image seems a bit dark to me. I like that Butch lightened the shadows and cropped the image some. I would crop just slightly more on the right, to the edge of the fence. That would add an element of mystery to the image as the eye would wonder how far the fence goes, rather than it ending.   Posted: 07/10/2025 20:49:47

I would have cropped from the left of most of the small tree; and added more on the right to move the dwelling out of the center and drawing me to the light. The photo needs more contrast even for a rainy day. I like the light added to the photo by Butch.   Posted: 07/14/2025 04:42:12

Welcome back! I like what Butch has done to open up the shadows. I also like what Barbara mentioned, to crop a bit from the left. I like the line from the trees by the house to the midground tree and then to the smaller one just above the end of the fence.   Posted: 07/20/2025 16:38:58
