Safe on the Moon by Barbara Mallon

November 2024 - Safe on the Moon

About the Image(s)

I just bought at R5 mirrorless camera and am having a rough time getting a perfect photo. Wow is this thing complicated and not at all like previous canon cameras. The iso island sharpness are great! I took this photo of the Moon hand held with the 24-105 lens. It was that color as it was setting. The moon about a 1/16 of the original photo. The puppy is from another iPhone picture. I added a color cast to the dog to make it blend.

I like the image. It is something quite different from what you usually show us, as it is creative with combined images. You did a good job of combining and blending the images. I like that there are some tree branches at the edge of the image. The point that bothers me is that the puppy is much sharper than the moon. But then, the viewer knows that the image is not real so that is maybe not a concern.   Posted: 11/14/2024 20:54:51

Fun image. But ye, the puppy is too sharp. Just blur him/her a tad and it will look better. :) Also maybe make the edge around the base a bit more wonky - rather geometric at the moment. Just a thought. :)   Posted: 11/18/2024 09:03:26

Funny! The moon is a bit blurry and the puppy too sharp.   Posted: 11/18/2024 16:38:10

I am very glad you tried something different. I never get to see the moon in this colour. It looks a bit over saturated. I like the image for its creative content. Well done.   Posted: 11/26/2024 13:59:34
