About the Image(s)
The original had a very bland white sky. My main change was to replace the sky with a more cirrus type cloudy sky, which helped a great deal. I also sharpened the image using Topaz AI Sharpening. Cropping was also done and a bison on the left cut in half was removed using the clone tool in Photoshop.

Hi Joan. I really like your composition. The main bison is in nice sharp focus which fades away to a beautifully soft background and the image has nice color balance. The two bison are well-placed in the frame and your choice of camera angle further enhances the composition. Well done!
I am, however, questioning the need for a sky replacement. I think your original image has plenty of clouds to work with and all it needs is some additional, careful post-processing. To my eye the sky replacement does not look natural.   Posted: 07/08/2024 04:42:09

Joan, I like the majestic look of the bison that you captured. Your sharpening on the close bison worked well to give detail to his head. The slightly more blurred second bison along with the hazy background give a pleasing composition and sense of place. I agree with Michael that a sky replacement wasn't necessary. I think a bit of adjustment just on the sky would give the improvement you wanted while keeping the sky appropriate for the scene.   Posted: 07/11/2024 17:27:20
Wonderful photo. Excellent angle and composition. Your enhancing edits worked very well. I too think you did not need to change the sky.   Posted: 07/11/2024 20:29:38
Joan, this is a very nice capture of this bison. I can see the eye and I like the angle at which you took the photo. I agree with the others about the sky replacement. I think if you just added some contrast to the original sky, the clouds will become more apparent. Nice wildlife image.   Posted: 07/15/2024 23:24:09
Hi Joan,
The sky replacement gives a different feeling and impact to the viewers. The bison and its calf seem to run away from the storm in this scene. I especially like pieces of grass around the bison's neck, which seem that it just got up and reacted to potential incoming storms. Nice wildlife shot!   Posted: 07/17/2024 22:21:50
