About the Image(s)

We attended a wedding in Montreal a few weeks ago. I had a chance to walk around the Old Town and Port area. This ferris wheel (La Grand Roue de Montreal) sits in the Old Port along the St. Lawrence River. It goes around very slowly - it really serves as an observatory - and I didn't have time to take in the view. Perhaps next time.

I took this on my Canon 90D, 24-105 lens f/14 at 1/125 sec ISO 100 and a 24mm focal length. In Lightroom I enhanced exposure and contrast, masked and changed the exposure of the sky, added texture and vibrance, and a touch of dehaze. I then moved it to Photoshop. There I removed all the people and the shadows on the path, cropped to a 1:1 aspect ratio and used Generative Fill to add content in the spaces to the left, right, and top of the photo. I look forward to the group's comments.

Your image is dramatic and draws your attention to the Ferris wheel and the clouds moving through the background. You did a nice job in your editing process and it added to the final image.   Posted: 10/05/2026 01:22:54

Hi Andres,
The composition works very well with the walkway leading to the ferris wheel. The wheel is not in motion and the building behind it is nicely framed through its metal frames. Your post processing skills to modify the sky and remove the people are excellent. Very nice image!   Posted: 10/10/2026 12:45:48

Andres, excellent job in seeing the possibilities in this scene and using post-processing to improve the impact of the view. Lining up the ferris wheel with the domed building and the pier was very effective. Your editing process of removing the people and adjusting the cropping worked well to make your image more dramatic. Well done!   Posted: 10/10/2026 18:33:07
