Our family took a car trip down Baja California see years ago. We had a place to stay in Cabo San Lucas. On the way down, we passed many pleasing water scapes including a large number of pelicans. I just cropped a bit and removed the wharf reflections with the clone tool The colors on the pelicans indicated that they were in breeding mode., I think.

Joan, what a beautiful image of these pelicans. I like how the subject is the second one in with the eye so apparent and the red below. They are all lined up so nicely so that the viewer follows the pier and then to the sun reflection in the water. All are in focus with lots of detail in the feathers. Very nice image. Joan, very nice photo. The colors and details are sharp and you caught the eye of the main two pelicans. I like your original better. The pier reflections in the background give the photo some texture and makes the pelicans seems less crowded. I also liked the two pelicans in the front and found the ones behind them a bit distracting. Si I took the liberty of removing them. What do you think? Posted: 08/10/2026 17:09:29

Thanks of much for your input. I still prefer all of the pelicans there as it was the group of them that attracted me In the first place, but I appreciate the work you went to to show me an alternative. You did a great job removing them. I have yet to figure out how to use the Remove tool I Photoshop. My older version of the OS wouldn't
t work with the newer version of Photoshop. But it should now work with a new machine altogether. Posted: 08/15/2026 22:49:07

Joan, I like the bright coloring of the breeding pelicans. The two in the front do catch my attention the most. The orangish reflection the the water works well with the colors of the pelicans. Personally, I like the version that Andres shared. The overlapping pelicans in the middle of the group become confusing to me as the necks and bodies are hard to sort out. Another option would be to blur the background pelicans slightly while keeping the front two sharp, if you wanted to draw attention to the two front birds. Posted: 08/16/2026 01:26:42

The light is great in your image , and the pelicans at the pier are sharp. I found that the 2 pelicans in the middle turned their back out create a visual clutter and a bit overwhelming view.
