November 2025 - Knoll of Fir Trees with fall colors including aspen, North Lake, The Sierras

This is pretty much as I took it. I brightened up the image somewhat, added a little vibrance and cropped in a bit. North Lake is one of the most spectacular vistas in the Auto scenes that so magnificently color the many aspen and other scrummage in the High Sierras of California. This particular view had always intrigued me. , sp O tppk Manu images of this area. It is across the lake and surrounded by mountains.

Joan, the scene in your photo illustrates how beautiful the colors of fall are. The group of green pines on the hillside become a fitting center of interest for me. To me, the colors in your photo seemed washed out and not as vibrant as they probably were in real life. So I tried an edit to bring out more of the natural color of the trees. I mainly brought down the exposure and the highlights to enrich the color. What do you think about this version of the scene, Joan? Posted: 11/08/2025 20:31:35
This came out a lot lighter than I wanted, so I a including here one version of it which is quite a lot darker ad closer to my visaion of it. Posted: 11/09/2025 01:00:34

I agree with Ruth and Andres that your revised version brought out the vibrant colors of the fall season. The green hill with pine trees stands out from different layers of colors in the background.

Joan, your revised version of this image really brings out the autumn colors of the California Sierras. The composition works well with the trees and all the leading lines to them. Very nicely done! Posted: 11/14/2025 00:07:27
