About the Image(s)

I took this photo in the Colorado mountains a couple days ago when the columbines were at their peak. It was taken with my Canon EOS R6 in the evening in the shade at 1/125, f/10, 105 mm. In Lightroom and PhotoShop, I selected and darkened the background, cloned out a bit of fluff on the petals, and sharpened the center. As always, I appreciate your comments.

Ruth, You've don a marvelous job of isolating the flowers so that they stand out from the background. I have no suggestions as this is perfect, in my view. I also like that you incorporated. two buds, which are well placed. Congratulations..   Posted: 07/07/2025 17:49:35

Ruth, this is a beautiful photo. Your crop really focuses on the flower. The darkening of the background and the sharpening of the center really make the flower pop. Really well done. Andres   Posted: 07/11/2025 00:30:19

Ruth, beautiful image of the columbines! I like how you darkened the background. The crop puts the flowers in the center yet at a diagonal with nice flower and bud in the upper right. The bokeh is nice too. Did you saturate the color a bit on the columbines? The color seems more vibrant than in the original. Lovely image!   Posted: 07/15/2025 22:49:44

Mary Ann, I appreciate your comments. Yes, I probably did saturate the columbines a bit.   Posted: 07/21/2025 19:26:03

Hi Ruth,
The colors of the columbines are beautiful! Your post processing is also well done that make the flowers stand out from the background.
In my personal opinion, I'd prefer to eliminate the bulb on the left since it's so sharp and it could compete with the purple flowers. The bulb on the top right is a bit lighter could be used to add more interest to the image.   Posted: 07/19/2025 22:28:13

Kieu-Hanh, thank you for your comments. I like the shape of the buds, but you're right that the one on the left probably does distract from the blossoms.   Posted: 07/21/2025 19:27:33

This is a lovely image!
The colors are so soothing, and the details in the petals are beautifully captured. It feels like a peaceful moment frozen in time. Well done   Posted: 07/22/2025 20:10:55
