About the Image(s)
This was one of many images I took several years ago on a trip to the Sierra with our club. The leaves were really at their prime. We were lucky. I used in ACR the Clarify slider, which instead of pulling it to the right, in shoved all the way to the left. It has the opposite effect of making the image look dreamy. I did this twice to chance that effect. I also cropped from the bottom to remove some areas that were not too interesting. It kind of gives the Orton effect to the image. I look forward to your comment

Joan. Sliding the clarity slider to the left gave your image a painterly (is that a word) effect. It appears that the leaves in the foreground were out of focus; however I think that makes the image more interesting.   Posted: 02/10/2025 20:27:54
Hi Joan,
The result of your experiments with the clarity slider of ACR is beautiful! It's interesting to see that only the colors of the blue trees have been inverted, and not the colorful leaves. I looks like a LED lighted wall art! I really like it!
My question is: Why the trees in the original image have the blue color?   Posted: 02/13/2025 21:07:56

Joan, I was intrigued that you decided to experiment with adjusting the Clarity slider to the left instead of the right. The idea of using this adjustment to produce a dreamy look is new to me. I like the bright leaves against the subdued background. Like Kieu-Hanh, I wondered why the trees in your original were blue.   Posted: 02/14/2025 20:14:19
Joan, this image has a very soothing and painterly feel to it. I like how the trees in the background almost look monochrome bringing out the vibrant colors of the fall foliage.   Posted: 02/19/2025 14:06:14
This is ny fourth attempt to Reply. For sone reason the info I sent disappears. I will keep this simpler. No photo. The shot was taken partly in shade, so the bluish cast..Also my camera is set o maximum vibrance in the menu. I removed the bluish cast using Hue-Saturation in the blues and cyans, setting the saturation to zero.

Joan, thank you for your explanation. Now I understand the bluish cast in the original and how you took out the blue by lowering the saturation. You've created a dreamy, abstract look with your adjustments.   Posted: 02/22/2025 23:00:42
