About the Image(s)

This was taken with the Nikon Z9 with tamron 150-600 for an f mount so I had to use an adapter. I had it set on shutter speed priority at 1/1250 and the ISO on auto so it was 2800, f/8.
I took this hand held so I could easily pan the birds. We were very fortunate that the cranes were in the right location as the sun was setting behind us so the light was glowing. I did minimal updates in camera raw and photoshop. My PC is old so I didn't bother trying any denoise but I think the camera did a fairly good job. I look forward to your comments.
PS...my new computer will be ready in early December!

Hi Mary Ann,
You did a great job of capturing those cranes in flight. The birds are sharp and are flying separatedly from each other, which is a big +. The background is also clean with beautiful clouds.
I'd suggest to remove a row of dark spots on the sky (which could be other flying birds). They are a bit distracting since they are not clearly visible. Nice shot!   Posted: 12/04/2024 05:57:04

Mary Ann, I think the golden light on the cranes is beautiful.
The wings in different positions and natural grouping of the birds provides an attractive composition. Your decision to pan on the cranes worked well to keep the birds sharp while blurring the background. Nice job, Mary Ann.   Posted: 12/06/2024 19:50:32

Mary Ann, great shot. So good that the only things in focus are the birds. Lighting is excellent. Well done.   Posted: 12/12/2024 21:53:46
