Last year in May, I went to the Royal Greenhouses with the family, so without camera...
I like this flower, I took my (old) iPhone (11) and it did the job. (1/120, f/1,8, ISO 64 ...)
I let the window in the back to show the environnement.
LR: increased Contrast, Texture, Clarity. I used a mask for the background (decreased Highlight, Texture & Clarity)

Even before reading your note, the atmosphere made me think of a classic greenhouse-keeping that background grounds the flower perfectly in its natural context. I was just wondering if changing your angle when shooting to straighten the window frames in the background (as they tilt slightly to the right-perhaps just my architect's occupational hazard speaking! ????) might have strengthened the composition even further.
What really impresses me is how expertly you used Lightroom to elevate a smartphone photo. Your background masking creates a beautiful, dramatic contrast that highlights the incredible texture of the spadix.

Hi Vincent: Cell phones are improving each year in their ability to capture fine images.
This is a fine documentary picture of the white lily in its greenhouse setting with window in the background. The overall picture has a pleasant soft mood.
The white spathe shows some detail and texture in this low light setting, sometimes in brighter lighting conditions it is hard to show sharpness and texture in a white plant as brighter light tends to remove details. Posted: 08/04/2026 02:12:26

I like the composition of this photo in that it is nice and straight forward to highlight the individual flower. I think your cropping and angel of the flower adds to the overall interest. The lighting works well for the subject and I like that the flower has nice detail while you have a gook bokeh behind it.
