About the Image(s)

This is a frozen flower creation during one of my “put stuff in it” mode. I had shot well over a thousand frozen flowers and looking for a way to expand creatively. I considered adding all kinds of things, from watch parts to aquarium gravel. I even tried fruit.
A couple things to consider when freezing. The dramatic effect of freezing bubble column is primarily due to oxygen being squeezed from the organic material and slowly freezing as the bubble escapes. Along with O2 is also some of the contaminants that are in the water. In a nutshell, whatever is inside the organic material will be squeezed out. This generally means the ice won’t be clear. I did try freezing in salt water, but no luck. So, I had no idea how sugar (from the fruit) might affect it. I was pleasantly surprised and went on to do, lemons, kiwi, peppers and even a horn melon.

Hi Mo: Another of your extremely well done frozen flower arrangements. Very artistly arranged with various shapes and sizes and colors in a grouping. The texture of the ice adds that finishing touch to this amazing flower picture.
What else can I say but excellence.

Looking forward to your astute comments on our images.   Posted: 11/06/2025 17:00:59
