Shot in vivid mode, since this was recommended by a longtime Nikon user at my Camera Club. And he was correct for these subjects. This made a lot of difference with so many colors and types, this mode gave good differentiation.
Image Background:
Taken at a recent Orchid Exhibit at the Chicago Botanic Gardens.
The Orchid show is annual, at this time of year. Thematic elements change each year. This year it was “India in Bloom”
Three main greenhouses/hothouses and 3 exhibit halls contained hundreds of different orchids, this yellow/pink orchid was in the main hothouse and was in one of many giant hanging baskets made of Indian celebration pom poms, Original pic attached also.
Image Evolution:
Lightroom, Photoshop & Topaz Photo AI.
Steps:
* Manually tracked selector tool around required subject Flowers to select and then inverted selection for accurate background removal.
* Used the remove tool to remove buds hanging over the top petals however lost the petals so manually selected other petals on other flowers and flipped their original direction to create replacement petals for top flower and top stem section.
* Used Texture, Sharpen, luminosity and color mixers in light room to get to desired look
* Upscaled the pixels in topaz photo AI (TPAI)
* Refined the smaller central parts of the orchid using slight recoloring and dehazing in TPAI
* Back in photoshop chose background color, placed frame and used spot fix tool to remove some lens specs and blend new transplanted petals
* slight brightness and tone edit then final edge refinements
