Bearded Iris by Raymond Tice

November 2024 - Bearded Iris

About the Image(s)

From our gardens; photo taken in my workroom using a Nikon D850 with 105mm lens, 1/20 sec at f/3.2, -1 EV, iso 64 on a tripod. Images based on ~100 stacked images imported from LR into Helicon Focus, method C.
I then synchronize the folder in LR to open the new image and moved it to Photoshop to change the black background to a dark green one and add a white border. The flower stalk had fallen over and the flower was growing upward from that. I liked that there was a bud next to the flower.

Excellent dof using Helicon. Great colors and background. No much else to suggest. Print it   Posted: 11/04/2024 23:04:31

Hi Ray: Everything here is absolute perfection, as good as it gets in every possible way; composition is perfect, then the lighting is very dramatic against just the perfect background color for the Iris flower. The thin white border adds that finishing touch.

Quite unusual to find an Iris flower growing from a horizontal stalk, the bud and flower are a perfect match.
KUDOS!!

Thanks Murphy, for some reason, we had a number of stalks laying horizontal to the ground with flowers growing up. Ray   Posted: 11/13/2024 00:35:37

The definition of perfection.
Colors, sharpness, composition, background, (border...) ... everything is perfect.   Posted: 11/12/2024 09:03:44
