About the Image(s)

On the eastern side of Door County, WI, near Bailey's Harbor, is the Cana Island Lighthouse. The small island is reached by walking a short causeway. I was surprised that all around the island, the beach is comprised of billions of bivalve shells...and the usual rocks. These piles of shells created small mounds which I wanted to show in the image. It was an overcast day, late in the afternoon, which didn't give much shadowing. But, it was still a pleasant scene to photograph.

Getting the LR RL images down to 1 MB or less puts the quality in "low" and it sounds terrible...is that still okay?

The low angle has made a good stereo and shows up the surface texture of the beach which is missing on a 2D view.   Posted: 07/16/2024 19:57:21

A good stereo of the beach surface. The image is having nice depth. The color balance of left and right images are a little different. You could have done the color balance using left reference. The contrast can be increased a little more using level and contrast adjustments. A quick trial is attached.   Posted: 07/20/2024 07:26:08

interesting low angle shot. i agree that it could use a little more contrast.   Posted: 07/20/2024 16:01:17

This only has interest in 3D as said by others. I can really see the beach texture and all the shells. Dr Dair's enhancement is interesting, but I have to assume the color of the shells are more like your view. I like the view.   Posted: 07/20/2024 18:26:03

I like the small mounds of shells and rocks in 3D. My eyes are drawn to the top right hand side of the image and I would like to see what is just beyond the frame of the image.   Posted: 07/21/2024 12:02:49

Very good. The detail is there. I would try darkening the blacks, before boosting general contrast, to keep more of the original detail and color.   Posted: 07/29/2024 03:38:07
