It's Cha-Cha view out an airplane window. Sit in the back of the airplane in the uncomfortable seats with less leg room if you want to be clear of the wings on your window view. :-)
I used i3Dsteroid to put two images together in the iPhone. Then I brought it into the computer at home and probably used SPM to fix it up for stereo alignment and Lightroom to give it nice contrast and color (airplane windows can be like a light fog filter). I have hiked this mountain many years ago when it was snow capped. Posted: 08/01/2026 20:20:55

When you say a chacha is that you moving the camera, or the airplane moving? I guess probably the latter.
I started taking stereo photos because I have a stereo microscope and I found the 3d images of these tiny objects quite compelling. I have refrained from branching out because I didnt want to be spending another ton of money on more and more equipment, but it seems that with the software like SPM you can do quite a lot without a lot of specialized gear. For an aerial hyper-stereo shot the interaxial can be hundreds of meters. You count in seconds between exposures at 500 miles per hour. That mountain is almost 2 miles high. Posted: 08/03/2026 03:48:46

I've seen hyper-stereo shots of the moon. And how are they done? One exposure is taken after sunset and the next is taken before sunrise. So, the interaxial between exposures is the Earth's diameter. Follow the 1/30th rule. Or the 1/50th rule. Posted: 08/03/2026 03:53:31

A good aerial hyper-stereo of the mountain. The mountain rises dramatically from the desert floor. Excellent stereo depth. I can count 4-5 distinct mountain ranges. Sharpness is consistent with blue haze. May be a little dehaze adjustment will look better. Roads and washed at the bottom works as nice leading lines. A nice shot. Posted: 08/21/2026 07:59:19
