This image was taken on 28th August, 2024 during a temple festival where the Snake-boats are received at the temple for "pooja" and feast during lunch time which is know as "Valla Sadhya" in local language. (The details can be seen at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valla_Sadhya.)

Camera Fuji Film FinePix REAL 3D W3. ISO-100, Shutter speed 1/210 sec, f/5.6, focal length 19mm. Since it was noon time, the lighting was not good, however it was a little cloudy which helped in a good exposure. After initial processing with SPM for alignment, the image was edited in Topaz for denoice, sharpen, levels and vibrance.

An excellent record of the event and the boat does not look very safe and secure, I would anticipate that some do fall in to the river   Posted: 11/10/2024 21:13:04

These boats are not used for transportation. It is mainly used for competitions on the river, specially during August-September months.   Posted: 11/23/2024 14:43:26

Surprising amount of depth from a W3 when you were, I assume, some distance away.   Posted: 11/11/2024 22:18:34

The minimal depth is enhanced by your excellent window placement, and a great image with lots of interest. Well done.   Posted: 11/27/2024 18:33:51
