About the Image(s)

The photo of this old classic was taken at Old Car City in White Ga. A great place to photograph. I had decided to channel swap during my initial rendering process but then I just stopped taking this image any further. Today I decided to finish the job.
Workflow: I cropped off the top to focus on the grill I added radial gradient to lighten the center of the grill, darkened the frame edges, and brushed in more color to the leaves.
Camera: 590nm Canon EOS M, 24-70mm Canon f2.8 L lens at 35mm, 1/20 sec at f8, ISO 100, -1/3 EV. This was a fun camera to use but is stopped working.

Hi Emil. I like the tight framing of the front of the old car. The subject is interesting. The leaves add interest and color, especially with your enhancement. Nice creative post work. Well done.   Posted: 07/01/2024 12:14:16

Hi Emil
I've a soft spot for vintage cars, and I'm greatly enjoying your presentation. The composition and framing speak for themselves, and speak objectively. Also love the texture and form which you've brought out so effectively. 10/10.   Posted: 07/02/2024 06:36:48

Greetings, Emil...

Nicely done. The color choices with the leaves and your choice of processing work well. I know you wanted to focus on the grill, but I also feel there's another photo including the hood ornament and the leaves at the top. It seems to provide a nicely balanced composition to my eye, albeit telling a different story.   Posted: 07/03/2024 12:56:27

Good points from the others. Like Gary, I like the leaves on top in the original. They frame the image. Using infrared to make a color image is interesting, there are so many possibilities. I wouldn't know where to start. Nicely done Emil.   Posted: 07/03/2024 19:37:40

Emil,
First of all, the processing here is outstanding. I love the colors and textures. I agree with Jack about all the different directions you could have gone with the crop.   Posted: 07/04/2024 17:21:54

Hi Emil, I love Old Car City. You have made me want to look at my old images from there. Such a fun place to visit. I really like the way you have processed. The gun metal color shown in the car is lovely. I do think there is a case to be made for keeping the full image. The leaves in the upper corners make such a great frame and should not detract from the grill.   Posted: 07/06/2024 16:23:29

Emil, looks like your subject is a 1941 Buick "Super" Speaking of super, you did a terrific job rendering it. I like the color switching and particularly brushing in more color in the leaves. You made the story of an 83 year old car come to life.   Posted: 07/16/2024 20:02:34
