About the Image(s)
The picture was taken on a walk with my dog in a local park. When we started, the sky had some white puffy clouds, but later, storm clouds appeared in the sky. I used a Nikon D300 with a 720nm filter. The settings were 1/320 sec., F13, ISO 200, and -0.67 EV.
Post processing included global tonal adjustments and sky enhancement in ACR, followed by Minor Photoshop work for cropping, channel swapping, and tonal adjustment to make the sky bluer. Topaz DeNoise AI was used to reduce noise and sharpen the picture.

Great image and composition, Arik. I like the way you've toned the sky blue, making the tree stand out. Post processing spot on. Well done!   Posted: 11/02/2023 04:53:21

Well done, Arik. I have always struggled with the blue tones in IR, but this one is done most effectively. The tree really pops out of the composition.   Posted: 11/04/2023 18:42:08

Thanks. There's another method that I use instead of channel swapping. It often works better. The steps are:
1) Create a Levels Adjustment Layer.
2) Swap the Black Point and White Point handles in the lower ruler (Move the left handle of the lower ruler all the way to the right and the right handle all the way to the left).
3) Change the blending mode to Color.   Posted: 11/04/2023 18:55:46

The tones are unusual and certainly add some mood to this Arik. In addition to the blue in the clouds, I also feel a little bit of magenta in the tree. The sky has an impending storm kind of feel. For me, there is just a tad too much foreground on the bottom.   Posted: 11/05/2023 05:43:54

Thanks. I cropped a little from the original. It's interesting that some of us like the top tight (me) and some like the bottom cropped.

Well done. Hopefully you and your dog got back before the rain hit...
One thought I have is to lighten the foreground grass to contrast with the tones of the tree and its adjacent foliage.

Hi Arik, The tones are lovely. You have managed to render a beautiful stormy sky. Thank you for the instruction on how you did this. There is a certain elegance to the whites, giving a very clean look. I think some darkening along the base would anchor the image. Well done!   Posted: 11/07/2023 16:12:20

Arik, I just read your review for Gary and wonder if you would like to give an AI lesson to the group if there is an interest?   Posted: 11/07/2023 16:26:34

Arik, like the others, I enjoy the metal blue tones you created in the sky. Indeed, this is a portrait of a tree. My eye wants the impossible, namely, separation between the lower right side of the tree and the foliage growing into it. Short of bring a sickle with you when you shoot, I don't know what can be done . . . if anything needs to be done.
I am very much looking forward to your workshop on AI   Posted: 11/20/2023 14:32:45
