About the Image(s)
I liked the way this image from a Cambodian River places the three houses, and the clouds, something you don’t see everyday for sure.
It’s very basic iPhone editing, just wanted to have something to share this month. Will take your pointers to do more editing when I get home

Interesting scene and picture. You managed to get details in the bright clouds and the dark cabins. I would try to bring out some more shadow details.

Very interesting composition and location, Jack. I think the shadows need a bit more brightening, selectively. Try NIK Color Efex Pro--Detail Extractor on this one and see if you like the results.   Posted: 09/02/2023 20:10:10
Great scene for IR. I had a bit of fun tweaking it in Photoshop. I used the perspective crop to straighten the leftmost hut a bit. I also cropped it a bit to better focus on those wonderful clouds. I used the Camera Raw filter to open up the shadows a bit and improve contrast. Finally, I added a bit of a vignette around the frame.   Posted: 09/03/2023 15:09:24
Thanks Henry, all good ideas and much improved! I'll take these into account on my final edit.   Posted: 09/03/2023 18:57:29
Jack, amazing work with just iPhone tech handy. The clouds perfectly frame around the huts and the flat boat adds artistic interest. I like what Henry did. Glad you could be in such a place to take this splendid image.   Posted: 09/03/2023 21:14:56
Thanks Charles

Hi Jack, You sure do get to interesting places. This makes for a great capture. The I Phone processing did not do it justice. It does need more work. Henry is on the right track. I know your final edit will be lovely.   Posted: 09/04/2023 09:11:47
Hi Jack
As soon as I opened the image, I immediately thought of an alternative title, i.e., "Three Sisters" Its a beautiful scene the way you've taken and composed. However, I tend to agree with some of the remarks put forth by others to improve the image quality.   Posted: 09/05/2023 00:49:13

Thanks Palli, that's a great idea. I actually took this from a moving boat, and waited for the three of them to position just right to take the shot.   Posted: 09/05/2023 15:16:16
Jack,
Wonderful scene using a great pocket camera. You do get to some amazing locales...
You have a strong place to start and I know your processing will do it justice. Please share your processed image of Stilted Houses in the future.
Regards

Thanks, Emil. I actually took this with my regular camera, Sony a7, and then sent the image to my phone for some processing with the iPhone photos app. I'll post a followup version.   Posted: 09/05/2023 15:17:39
