About the Image(s)
This image is of the North Fork of the Shenandoah River. It is located about 2 miles from my house in Virginia. I recently purchased a 550nm filter which gives very intense saturation of the colors. This image is basically right out of the camera with minimal post processing. I did not do a camera swap because I like the intense sky and foliage. I did darken the foreground and lighten the central portion of the image to help draw your eye into the scene. I took this in vertical, portrait format, again to draw your eye towards the center of the image. I was trying for that surreal sunset look.
Specs:
Nikon Z6 converted to full spectrum

Stunning color SOTA of your Nikon. Seldom happens it seems
My thought is to dodge the water way a bit to bring out some the texture in the ripples and let it serve as a lead into your shot

Nicely seen. Sometimes straight out of the camera with a bit of cleanup works well and this is a great example of that. There have been more than a few times I've struggled over an IR image and realized that what the camera was giving me was enough. I need to embrace that more often. Minor nits: As Steve said, you missed a sensor spot or two. Also the bright bits in the water in the lower left corner should be taken out. Otherwise, excellent.   Posted: 07/02/2026 16:56:58
