About the Image(s)
I’ve been working a lot lately, so took this from the seat of the tractor. It seems to have a hot area in the middle, do you notice this?

Jack, this image reminds us of John Steinbeck, but certainly not grapes of wrath. I like the ample use of leading lines. I don't think you have a hot spot issue. My eye wants to do something with the sky, not sure what, so disregard. Interesting perspective. It is easy to take the seat in your tractor.   Posted: 04/01/2026 16:30:00
Thanks, I had a similar feeling about the sky as you and Henry. I'm thinking blacker yet the clouds whiter, will try.   Posted: 04/02/2026 15:24:54
Jack,
Wonderful use of leading lines, drawing me back to the distant hills. I agree with Charles that the sky needs something, perhaps a bit of lightening? It's a small nit about an otherwise great image.   Posted: 04/01/2026 17:59:15

Beautiful scene that works nicely with IR. The bright grape leaves lead the viewer to the mountain range. Yes, a bit lightening and dehaze would help the sky. I may also remove a couple of the sharper contrails.   Posted: 04/01/2026 19:42:03
Thanks yes I agree about the sky. I am going to try to brighten the clouds, yet keep or darken the sky, more contrast.   Posted: 04/02/2026 15:25:38
Jack
The leading lines created by the vines are the picture but it has a nice supporting cast of mountains and sky
I tried a couple of things to see what else could be done to create a slightly different version. In LR i used the luminance mask to select the soil in the center of vineyard to tone it down. I brushed out everything except the center rows and reduced the highlights and black sliders. In the landscape mask, I selected mountains increased the dehire, texture and clarity to add more definition. I brushed the darker foliage along the mountain base and increased the highlights and exposure. I also brushed the clouds to bring them out by reducing dehire and increasing texture and clarity a bit.
Regards
Emil

A great capture! I like the leading lines to the mountains. It does need some more contrast as Emil pointed out.   Posted: 04/13/2026 17:28:51
Hi Jack, Your job takes you to interesting places to say the least. I'm sure we have all taken rows of vines at some point, but your perspective gives something extra. I guess I will need to find a tractor next time! Contrast is missing for me. Emil has done a fine job of working your image without loosing how you like your images. In other words gentle contrast.   Posted: 04/14/2026 15:41:24
