About the Image(s)

Tinicum Park is in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. The picnic area near the old barn is a good spot for IR photography. I chose this perspective that had every wall at some angle and not parallel to the camera. I also liked the trees in the foreground leading the viewer into the scene.

I made global and local tonal adjustments in ACR. In Photoshop, I removed a few small distractions and cloned some grass to the bottom of the closest tree so that it doesn’t look cut off. I made some final tonal adjustments and converted the image to b&w in Nik Silver Efex Pro. The Nikon D300 was set to ISO 200, f10, 1/100 sec, EV -0.33.

Arik, it's easy to like what you did in post processing. The increase in details and texture add a lot of depth and life to this image. I especially like how you used the trees to guide the viewers eye into this very fetching image.   Posted: 04/01/2026 16:22:09

Arik, very strong image that illustrates the beauty of infrared. The strong contrast between the foliage and the structures really comes through nicely. The white lichen on the trees is particularly interesting.   Posted: 04/01/2026 17:55:19

Arik,

Focusing on the lichen on the trees in the foreground your mind says windblown snow and then you see the scene as a whole it is IR.

I like your perspective here Arik. A lot of options here for photos.

Well seen

Emil

Your processing is spot on as usual Arik.

I was thinking this was a snow image, which didn't quite add up with the "snow" on different sides of the tree trunks, then I noticed the other comments about lichen moss. Like many IR images, it evokes a feeling of a snowy scene.   Posted: 04/10/2026 01:14:49

A tranquil scene. Like Jack, I first thought this was a snow scene.   Posted: 04/13/2026 17:26:16

Hi Arik, There is so much to look at in this image. Breaking it down, I see a number of scenes that would work on their own. That being said you did find an interesting angle. What I like most is the lichen on the trees. It gives a whimsical look around all the structures. Your processing is lovely. The softness of the trees and sky create a wonderful backdrop.   Posted: 04/14/2026 15:32:06
