About the Image(s)

Current Photoshop tools were used to create the image I
wanted of a single tree.
Workflow: I used generative fill a number of times to remove the foliage on the right and the foliage below the tree inside the fence line to get the solitary tree. I
rendered the image in BW using NIK Silver Efex, a touch of Detail Extractor and then the masking tools in LR to dodge and burn. I did use Topaz Photo AI to denoise.

Camera: 590nm Canon 5D Mk II, Canon 24-105 f4 lens at 32mm, 1/200 sec at
f8, ISO 200, 0EV

A moody picture, Email. Love it! Also like the fence line and overall composition. Everything is going for this image. How I wish I was there to take it!!   Posted: 12/01/2025 23:10:25

Hi Emil. I like the image you had in your mind's eye and produced in Photoshop very much. Post processing took it from a nice raw original to a beautiful final image. I tried to shoft the white point a little and make the highlights a bit brighter, without losing the mood. You may want to try it. The composition works well too. Nicely done.   Posted: 12/02/2025 15:31:37

Emil, such a graceful delicate tree. It is a challenge to take a portrait of a tree, but in this case, you have succeeded. How you managed the light in post processing gave life and beauty to this image. Very nice.   Posted: 12/02/2025 15:36:40

I agree with Arik, you took a good image and made it GREAT with post-processing. It does not always work out but in this case, you nailed it.   Posted: 12/02/2025 21:39:49

I agree with the others, Emil. The tree by itself would be a terrific image, but the fence makes this special. I hope you take the time to print this.   Posted: 12/08/2025 19:12:40

The softness works so well here, Emil. And I really like your setup with the forest of trees in the distance down below, obscured by haze or fog, there's all kinds of mood in this. Very nice.   Posted: 12/08/2025 23:58:47
