About the Image(s)
I liked the curve in the tracks, leading to the barn under the trees, in this Palouse image.
Are the tracks being right on the edge a problem for you? Would you rather see it flipped so the curve is left to right?

Hi Jack. Before I read your text, I looked at the cropped track and thought that it looks fine. I have a similar picture where I left one full track and a small portion of the second one. I wasn't sure if my framing was good, but now I feel better about it. I also like the orientation of the picture. It flows nicely from left to right. The curved rail frames it. Very nicely done.   Posted: 07/01/2025 13:17:37
Jack,
Nothing like having dark RR tracks, counter balancing tall white grass in your image. I think anyone would shoot this every time if they could.
Well done

Hi Jack,
Before reading anything, I noticed the clipped tracks in the lower right. I wish you'd have gotten the full track in the frame to even further strengthen the leading line. Great subject and a perfect one for the use of infrared.   Posted: 07/07/2025 15:15:53

Jack,
One of my favorite locations for IR! Very well composed. I have no issue with the partial track and have made similar images over the years (love that whole network of narrow-gauge rails). My only suggestion would be to bring out the shadows a bit on the barn, but that's a nit.   Posted: 07/07/2025 15:52:28

Jack, the tracks on the right are all right. The contrast between the hard tracks and the soft grass is fetching. How you framed in the trees and barn with the clouds is masterful. Such an elegant image.   Posted: 07/10/2025 14:03:40
Jack, I have just noticed that my comment on your image did not load this month. Please accept my apology.
I really like the unusual lead in the tracks make to this gorgeous scene. Well composed and great post processing. I do wonder about lightening the barn. There is definitely detail there.

For my tastes, I would prefer that both tracks be included from the start at the lower bottom. Otherwise, I love the curving leading line to the barn.   Posted: 07/25/2025 12:36:37
