About the Image(s)
This structure is neither very old or dilapidated. Not the usual criteria for making a acceptable image. But... I did like where it was placed, the surrounding trees and the sky.
Converted using Lifepixel action. After cropping and removing unwanted objects, I used Photoshop Black and White. Select color for the contrast and sharpened with Topas AI. I look forward to your comments.

I like this image a lot. It has good depth, tonal balance and is a very pleasant composition. A couple of tweaks, if you agree: maybe crop a bit more on the left, increase highlights in spots using the dodge tool, and maybe lighten the leaves in the tree (or slightly increase brightness in the sky, while keeping contrast).   Posted: 03/01/2025 10:28:39
Thanks Chuck, I will do the necessary work to make this better.   Posted: 03/10/2025 10:01:28
Melanie
I liked the scale of your original so rendered it into BW. I removed a few things here and there in my rendition.
I noticed a few sensor spots in the clouds that are also in your BW image and there are light areas in the sky behind both trees that are not in the original?
Regards

It is interesting seeing the different takes on this image. I like the softer feel of this edit of Emil's.   Posted: 03/08/2025 14:00:23
Wow! Thanks for taking the time. I love what you have done with the clouds.   Posted: 03/10/2025 10:02:35
Beautiful scene for IR. I like your high contrast version. There's some noise in the dark areas in the sky. The composition and cropping work for me. Nicely done.   Posted: 03/05/2025 14:25:50
Thanks Arik. I agree and have already "fixed" the sky.   Posted: 03/10/2025 10:03:33
Gary, I love that you take the time to work of our pictures. You always find ways to tweak elements we don't see for ourselves. Thank you.   Posted: 03/10/2025 10:05:46
It's a classic composition, Melanie, very nice. In yours, and Gary's versions, we've lost much of the detail in the sky. Surprisingly Emil was able to bring it back from the jpeg, and I appreciate his take much more. This image seems to bring out each's unique vision.   Posted: 03/08/2025 14:02:26
Thanks Jack, I do like how Emil worked the clouds.   Posted: 03/10/2025 10:06:39
It's always interesting to come late to a discussion like this in that I can see other people's thoughts and suggestions. I really like your original composition, but found your processing a bit too heavy-handed for my taste. Looking at the various alternatives posted, I really like Emil's version, but felt that it could benefit from more contrast. I took his version and applied a curves adjustment to the overall scene, then another to just the clouds. I then brightened the foliage a small bit. I also cropped it closer to your original. Just a suggestion.   Posted: 03/11/2025 13:31:08
