I liked this river scene for the natural vignette, foreground and top a little darker. I always wonder on scenes like this, do you crop at the big tree, or leave some on the other side?

Very nice scene for IR. In this case, I would crop a little from the right and bottom, but leave most of the trunk. I may also increase the midtone contrast with the Dehaze or Clarity sliders. The framing with the tree is great. The picture is beautiful. Posted: 02/01/2025 20:01:33

Jack, I couldn't agree more with our colleagues, but might also suggest removing some of the hanging branches so as to not have overlap with the trees across the river, if this is feasible. Posted: 02/05/2025 01:16:29

Your composition evokes a place where artists might dwell to paint the very scene you shot.
My thought is to open up the trunk of the big tree in front just a bit so the vines stand out a little more

Hi Jack, I think we all agree that this is a perfect scene for artists. My eyes travels through it enjoying all the elements. I would crop,the right all the way to the trunk And yes some contrast is needed. I still love it! Posted: 02/11/2025 15:34:20
