About the Image(s)
This is an image of a small section of the 4800-mile North Country Trail. Fewer than 20 people have hiked its entire length. To render the final image, I cropped it to emphasize the trail, darkened the trail itself, punched up the highlights, soften the details and added a subtle vignette. Noise was reduced with Topaz AI. Camera numbers: Nikon D7000 (590nm), f/8, 60mm, 1/800, ISO=400.

Hi Charles,
I really like the mood and the IR effect in this one...it all works for my eye. Lonely and calm...the smoothing of the highlights gives it even more of that mood. Well done.   Posted: 11/01/2024 12:22:39

Beautiful contrast on this, Charles, it just makes the image. No recommendations for improvement.   Posted: 11/03/2024 02:54:44

Hi Charles. I like this low-key picture with some bright spots that create drama and mood. Nicely done.   Posted: 11/04/2024 17:47:47

Charles,
Your decision to crop, the lights and darks in your rendering are done well.
My reaction after studying the image is that path stops at the base of the trees mid frame and not sure where it goes from there. Is it possible to go in deeper to have the path go into the horizon?
Regards

Hi Chuck, A beautiful and inviting scene. I really enjoy the highlights and the shadows draw us in. Would you consider lightening the start of the pathway? I feel that it would be more in keeping with the entire scene.   Posted: 11/10/2024 18:21:17

Good suggestion. I will lighten the foreground section of the path, and maybe crop a little. Thanks.   Posted: 11/21/2024 22:39:49
