About the Image(s)
We had a frost at the end of Oct. the conditions were right for frost to form on my roses. I found a rose I liked. Had to work fast before the frost was gone off the rose. It melts fast. Taken with my 200-macro lens on my tripod. ISO 200, 1.6 sec exposure with +.3 step exposure bias.

Wonderful frosty detail on this beautiful rose. You captured nice texture and the glimmer of the frost on the petals. I can feel the cold viewing this image.   Posted: 12/02/2025 20:58:50
Frost in October? That's a little too early for me. And, a rose blooming in October seems a little late. You did capture the essence of a frosted rose though. Not something you see very often, if at all.   Posted: 12/02/2025 21:10:44
Yes, we do get frost in October, this is important to bring on good fall color in our trees. Also, some of the best roses are the ones that bloom late into the fall. No Japanese beetles or other insects to destroy the flowers. This frost does not happen often. You have to have moist air with a fast-dropping temperature with a clear night to form the frost on plants. As soon as the sun rises and shines on the rose the frost is gone. You have to be there and work fast.   Posted: 12/02/2025 21:34:57
Beautiful! You caught this beauty with her petals wide open and still colorful. Incredible details on the frost. Great shot, Dick.   Posted: 12/12/2025 00:19:31
