About the Image(s)
I photographed this dried flower (sea lavender, I think) two years ago.
Today it is still vibrant purple. Soft boxes were used for lighting.
Three images were bracketed ( -1, 0, +1), and later combined in Photoshop.
Nikon D850; Macro 90mm; f/25; ISO 100

I'm surprised that the flower is still a vibrant purple. You captured it well with all its part in sharp focus. The background is nice and simple although I'm not very fond of the color. I might suggest desaturating it to a white background leaving the texture as is.   Posted: 12/01/2025 21:48:03
I appreciate your suggestions, David. Thank you.   Posted: 12/02/2025 23:45:31
Your capture and post processing resulted in a clean, sharp documentary image of this flower. I like all of the movement in the petals. I think doing something with the background would compliment the flower better as it's currently rather stark. Just for fun, I played with this image first in Lightroom Classic to crop and increase the exposure on the petals a bit. Then, I took it into Topaz Studio 2 and added several filters to give it a somewhat painterly appearance, plus added a textured background and slight vignette. I wasn't trying to make a masterpiece, LOL, just throwing out ideas.
Sorry if I went a little crazy on your image, but it was fun for me. I'm not sure how this group feels about others playing with their images, so I apologize if I overstepped in any way.   Posted: 12/02/2025 21:37:02

Thank you, Denise. I like it. It's very pretty. I welcome your ideas. Please feel free to edit my images.   Posted: 12/02/2025 23:55:51
The flowers are sharp and I like the composition with the stem coming into the frame from the left. It looks like the lighting was from above and slightly behind the flowers? One suggestion would be to have more direct lighting on the flowers, to bring out more detail. I like Denise's edit on the background, but prefer the unedited version of the flowers. Nice shot!   Posted: 12/12/2025 13:41:27
