About the Image(s)

For this month’s image, I chose one that I took recently, taking advantage of the morning dew. The patterns in the grasses and the sparkling dew caught my attention, and I wanted to capture them in an image. I knew I would need a lot of depth of field to get all the leaves in focus, so I did an in-camera focus stack of ten images, which produced this result.

Exif data:
Shutter speed: 1/2000 sec
Aperture: f/6.3
ISO: 2000
Shot with Canon R6 II and a 100mm macro lens

This is such a unique looking plant that I had to look it up. My search shows it's a Drummond woodsorrel - a plant native to the U.S. I've never seen one before. I like the way you captured it with dew drops. So many interesting patterns. Good eye and excellent composition.   Posted: 10/05/2025 20:29:40

Yes, this is woodsorrel a common weed in our area also called oxalis. I love the patterns reminds me of a bunch of pinwheels. Nice capture with the dew drops which add interest to the image. Like the blue cast against the green. Fun to study this one.   Posted: 10/05/2025 20:43:51

Very interesting capture. I like the shapes and all of the dewdrops in your composition. It keeps your eye moving through the image to take it all in. Nicely seen.   Posted: 10/06/2025 18:40:32
