July 2025 - Dahlia

About the Image(s)

This is a stack of 18 images. Taken at f-11 (I usually do all my stacks at f8) I don't know why I used f11. Exposure for each shot was 1/3 sec., ISO was 200. Exposure bias was +1 stop. I was using my 200mm macro lens with a polarizer on a tripod. I also use a cable release on all my shots.

Beautiful dahlia image! All the detail in the yellow petals with the subtle, red tips are sharp. I like the varied shapes of petals and red tips as they add a ton of character to the flower. The overall image is an explosion of color!   Posted: 07/07/2025 13:49:30

Gorgeous! Incredible depth of field. Your perspective captured the curves of the petals perfectly. The colors and fine details add impact. Great job! Love it. I'm waiting for my dahlias to bloom.   Posted: 07/10/2025 15:18:49

Hi Dick,
I really enjoyed your image, it's beautifully composed, and the level of detail and clarity is superb. I love how the yellows blend with the reds in the petals, and the curves and textures of the flower are truly exquisite.   Posted: 07/13/2025 19:32:06

I love this photo. The flower looks perfect, the focus is sharp, and I like the lighting and shadows. The pink color on the end of the leaves just completes the picture. It is one that would look great as a print.   Posted: 07/22/2025 15:07:09
