About the Image(s)
I made this image a few years ago. It was with my Canon R5. I hand held both the camera and the flower. The softness in the image is a result of the double hand held. I like the sculptural qualities of Flowers> This protea had such presence I wanted it to fill the frame and be as majestic in the frame as it is held in the hand..

For a hand-held flower and hand-held camera, you captured the image very well. I like the simple white background that brings out the shape and texture of the flower. I'm not sure I like the image in black and white and wonder what the original color image looks like.   Posted: 04/10/2025 22:15:47

Ummm...interesting observation about B&W vs color. I can't remember this image in color. I shall try to see   Posted: 04/10/2025 22:44:57
Hi Amy,
I like your perspective making the flower appear as if it is reaching forward. The flower has a nice shape and texture, but it needs to be sharper with more contrast.   Posted: 04/10/2025 23:03:10

To my eye I would prefer a sharper image. It's next to impossible to hand hold both camera and flower with much success. I agree with David and would like to see a color image of this subject. I feel the background on this works well.   Posted: 04/19/2025 17:39:52
