About the Image(s)
One of the first flowers to come up in my garden this year were the crocuses. Although they usually grow in bunches, I found this lone flower and framed it with daffodil leaves in the background. Using a Canon R5 and 100mm RF macro lens on a low tripod, I focus bracketed the shot using 31 images. For a cleaner look, I cropped the image and used Photoshop content-aware crop to add space on the right side. Exposure was1/50 sec @ f/2.8 and ISO 100.

David, what an outstanding image. Beautiful background that complements the flower. Great composition and lighting on the flower. Great detail front to back on the petals and stamens. These stacks are fun. So nice to see you use a tripod. You cannot make stacks of this quality without using a tripod. Most refuse or take the time to go to the next level by using a tripod. Question, do you manual focus when shooting most images?   Posted: 04/03/2025 01:12:57
Thank you, Dick! I'm old school and use tripods for most of my close-up images. When shooting flowers, I usually use manual focus and especially the magnification feature to enlarge the focus point.   Posted: 04/03/2025 02:10:13
