About the Image(s)

For this month’s image, I have chosen one that I recently shot in my garden, capturing this little flower on a frozen morning. It is quite rare for temperatures in my town to drop below zero due to its proximity to the sea, but on this particular morning, the sunrise revealed a beautifully frozen landscape.

Exif Data:

Shutter speed: 1/250 sec
Aperture: f/7.1
ISO: 1000
Shot with a Canon R6 II and a 100-500mm lens at 472mm

I love it! I find shooting flora in the winter after it snows is fun and a completely different experience than shooting flora in other seasons. It is more of a minimalist experience. You isolated the frozen dandelion beautifully, and I like your decision to crop the image to a 1:1 square ratio.   Posted: 02/06/2025 13:37:44

Hi David, I'm glad you like the image! It was a frozen morning that offered great opportunities for some nice shots, so I took the camera and looked for flowers around the house. This one stood out due to its colour, which contrasts beautifully with the frozen background.   Posted: 02/19/2025 23:57:45

What detail!I love it. The sharp focus truly enhances this image. I can count the frost crystals. I also like the how the neutral background makes the flower standout.   Posted: 02/23/2025 00:49:23
