About the Image(s)
I always save dried flowers from bouquets, especially roses. This rose
dried nicely retaining its' color, but it looked sad. I set my camera
on a tripod, and used an off camera flash for lighting. The background
was light brown paper, but I think it needs a different background to
give it a little pop. I tried other colors for the background, but
nothing seemed to work well. Your suggestions are welcome. Processed in
Lightroom and Photoshop.

It might be a sad looking rose, but it certainly has a lot of character. I like the detail in the withered rose petals and shriveled leaves brought out by a point-source, side light. The background color works well with the drooping flower. The image might not appeal to many folks, but I can appreciate the effort you put in setting this shot up.   Posted: 11/05/2024 00:57:11

I do a lot of dried flowers too, and I really like this one. As to the background, a pale green might give it more pop.   Posted: 11/17/2024 01:02:33

Thank you so much, Shirley. The pale green worked nicely.   Posted: 11/17/2024 14:38:11

Great detail in the petals and the leaves. Like the composition. I feel a black background would give the image more pop and impact. Not a big fan of many spent flowers.   Posted: 11/17/2024 22:55:34
