About the Image(s)
Also known as Queen Anne's lace, this plant is commonly considered an invasive weed in many states in the U.S. It is called a wild carrot because this is the European plant from which cultivated carrots were developed. I shot this plant on a calm morning in order to focus bracket 19 images. I used Helicon Focus to focus stack the images and Photoshop and Lightroom to crop and adjust the tonal range slightly. Shot with a full-frame Nikon camera and 70-180mm macro zoom lens at 180mm using a tripod. Exposure was 1/80 sec at f/5.6 and ISO 100.

You achieved great detail with this stack of 14 images. Great background and composition. Sharp from front to back. Love the little bits of color throughout the cluster. Nice image.
Just something of interest, wild carrots are biennials, they grow the first year then the second year they flower and set seed then die.   Posted: 11/03/2024 20:31:16

Nice presentation of this interesting flower. You captured its' fine details perfectly. Love the colors, texture, and curves. I can see the dew drops too. Tack sharp! Great job, David.   Posted: 11/07/2024 15:01:25

Thank you, Barbara. Focus bracketing was a little difficult because the flower was quite tall (~5 ft). I had to wait until there was no wind during the bracketed shots.   Posted: 11/07/2024 15:41:42
