I processed this from RAW, brought out more of the colors, blurred the background and sharpened.

A classic bee-on-a-flower shot beautifully achieved with the bee and the center of the dahlia in perfect focus. It looks like it was taken on a bright day, but somehow you managed to avoid any harsh shadows. You must have used a fast shutter speed, too, to stop the motion of the bee. If I were to make any suggestions, it might be to darken those brighter leaves in the background. But, otherwise, an excellent image.   Posted: 09/05/2023 18:48:31
Hi Marti. You've captured the bee perfectly and he looks quite busy taking advantage of this flower's pollen. I agree that darkening the background would benefit the composition, but your focus and vantage point are very effective. Congrats! Ingrid   Posted: 09/12/2023 14:14:32
Agree with both David and Ingrid that the background petals need to be a tad darker... so that the focus is on the bee more.   Posted: 09/18/2023 15:42:51
