About the Image(s)
Here is my photo for July. After much preparation to learn how to take an eclipse photo, I took the eclipse in brackets, and then chose the best ones of those. This Corona was taken at 1:35 p.m. in my location on April 8. The exposure time was 1/250, F4, using a Sony RX10iv, lens of 2.4 - 4.0. With that camera I was able to zoom in. I would like to use this shot, so I am submitting it this month, and asking for members’ comments? In PS, I used ACR to adjust colors, ran Topaz AI on it to sharpen it, and denoised it. The work was all in learning how to take an eclipse shot and then the time to shoot it.
Since the original and main photos looked very similar, I would like to ask if it is possible to post an ⬓alternative.⬠The alternative I took of the Diamond Ring that emerged from the Corona a few minutes later. Any feedback on which one has the most impact is greatly appreciated, along with problems with either. I have processed them both the same and printed both.
This round’s discussion is now closed!

I don't think your lens was able to handle the Chroma very well. Lots of unusual texture and some color effects generated.   Posted: 07/08/2024 14:03:28
Great images. I photographed the 2017 eclipse and know how difficult it is to capture. I really didn't know what I was doing at the time, but enjoyed the experience and the pictures came out okay. You captured a large portion of the corona and your diamond is amazing. If you have another chance at it, your images will be even better.   Posted: 07/19/2024 23:47:10
