Great action shot Dean! You caught the ugly side of a beautiful bird. My only problem with this image is that I'm having trouble seeing the definition of the bird's head on the left. I don't know if anything could be done about it. Even blown up, all I see is what may be a yellow beak? I do like that you cropped out all the non-essentials.   Posted: 08/08/2026 14:38:34

This is a great action shot showing the overpowering dominance of Blue Jays over any other bird, including their own kind. The perfect shot! Being new to the group, I'm okay if you ask me to tone down my critiques. I just comment on what I see. First, I noticed too much noise in this image and went to Topaz DeNoise. I used the setting "Clear" with the Remove Noise set to High and Enhance Sharpness set to Low. I think the sharpness setting especially helped the Jay on the left, who was the most blurry. I like your original crop of getting rid of the feeding station on the left, but I felt a closer crop would bring out even more of the action of the Jays' bickering. I increased the saturation to +32 to bring out the blue in the feathers; then I erased it from the background. What do you think?   Posted: 08/09/2026 18:00:59

Dean, you got some fast action. You must have close to get this at 200mm? You captured the personality of the right Jay. I liked the sharpening above, but I think you could also cut out much the feeder at the bottom to make it only 2/3 down.   Posted: 08/16/2026 16:18:50
