About the Image(s)

When I took this photo I went to a site that had several Trumpeter swans. They were all beautiful. Data on it F4, at 1/1000, focal length of 214. I processed it with ACR for light and colors. Tried to adjust the colors to bring out the blue in the water, and I could not do that well. I used Topaz sharpen and denoise. All comments are appreciated.

Good catch with both heads up and water dropping, Rita. I tried a similar shot the other day and gave up. You did well to bring out the subjects. I would try to reduce the highlights, and possibly the whites, to see if that helps the front swan. You might try to open the back swan's face with a brush and perhaps use a brush to reduce the exposure of the background. A slight vignette might also help to highlight the swans.   Posted: 07/08/2025 13:51:44

Rita,
The photo has some nice diagonals in it in both directions, and the reflections enhance the image. Capturing the dripping water from the mouth of the first trumpeter was great.
Your instinct to crop in is good; I would suggest trimming even more from the top, to eliminate the shrubbery, and to clone out or use AI to eliminate the few remaining branches. You can probably even take a tad off the bottom as well. Then, I would mask the areas of algae that have strong highlights and tone them down so the eye focuses in on the birds and their reflections, which seems to be your intended subject.
