About the Image(s)

Taken with a Fujifilm XT5 camera on July 2 at Doheny State Beach, CA. SS1000, aperture 4.8, ISO 320, 200 mm (55??“200 lens).

Ran the raw file through DxO Raw to denoise. Cropped in to focus on the girl on the belly board and used AI to remove the girl on the left. Adjusted the global sliders to enhance the photo overall, esp. vibrance, texture, clarity, sharpen, and the tonal curve. Used masks to lighten the chest area of the subject as well as her face, neck, and front hand.
My objective was to photograph the girl paddling on the belly-board, capturing an action photo. I could not eliminate the girl to her left or move fast enough to change the angle and still capture the moment, so I hoped I would catch a good image and crop it to get what I envisioned for the final photo.

Good decision, Diana. You removed the other girl well, maintained your chosen angle, and were able to crop into the subject to show her fcial expression. Nice action from both the giel and the water. I can't thnk of any changes I would make.   Posted: 07/08/2025 13:36:48

Diana,
Your crop works well to focus on the small wave and the girl on the board. The higher shutter speed freezes the water and action. Everything appears sharp - nice action image.   Posted: 07/09/2025 01:16:49

Diana, really nice capture. You did a very good job of removing the other girl, and focusing on the main subject. The frozen action is sharp, and the crop is perfect. Good job!   Posted: 07/16/2025 23:33:54
