Minor adjustments to white balance. Removed an aircraft trail that was a little distracting.
It was a pretty cool experience. I looked up launch dates and times, drove out to Saguaro National Park and picked a spot to shoot. There were a few folks from out of the country there doing the tourist thing.
I told them what was coming up and they stayed. They thought it was pretty cool to just happen when they were there.

Wow, this is a terrific image Denny. At first I thought it was a comet. The foreground is perfect, the sunrise beautiful and the sky just perfect for the launch. What an experience you captured.   Posted: 02/01/2025 15:16:06

Denny,
I have seen many images of rocket launches. This is definitely one of the best. I like that you captured the tail moving across horizontally and the cactus in the foreground, which moves the viewer's eye upward toward the launch and provides a striking silhouette. Super photo.   Posted: 02/01/2025 18:19:45

This is an eye-catching image. The position of the rocket with the tail behind and adequate space to move forward is well-done. The silhouetted images in the foreground add atmospheres, as does the sunrise or sunset. I would have liked to have slightly more foreground and city lights in the mid ground and slightly less sky at the top, but I can see you have not cropped the original, so that would be for any future opportunity, unless you were to use AI to try it out to see if you liked it better.   Posted: 02/05/2025 21:17:41

What a great shot! I cannot imagine how it would be better. Enter it into that National Park contest or magazine photo contest, and you should win.   Posted: 02/09/2025 03:00:22
