About the Image(s)

About a month ago we stayed overnight at a state park in Arkansas. There was a large area along the park road with had been planted with Zinnias. Most of the flowers were past their prime and fading but some were still vibrant. After taking a few pictures I heard the bumble bees moving in the flowers so I started chasing them from flower to flower in fading light. As usual I was using my Sony A7R5. I had a 28-200 zoom; ISO 800, f14, 1/100. In post I cropped in, added a vignette, applied denoise, and made a few of the other of the usual tweaks.

Dean,

the colors on these flowers are wonderful. I especially like the red flower. It looks like it is just about to turn. The variations color is really nice. They would be very nice by themselves but the bee makes it!

I love this image. It's perfect just the way it is. The only suggestion I have would be to increase the background on the left side to put the subjects slightly off center and give the flowers more space. I'm saying the left because you have another flower close on the right. Again, love it!!   Posted: 12/02/2024 18:47:06

Thanks Anne. I think a bit more space would be good.   Posted: 12/05/2024 04:15:20

I love the crop on this. The color combo works. Everything is in focus, and a good macro - even if you did not plan it that way. BTW, I always enjoy reading what state park you were last at! It's been too long since we have been to Arkansas, and the peaceful of Arkansas is always enjoyable.   Posted: 12/06/2024 02:01:42
