About the Image(s)

In Cincinnati, we have the American Sign Museum
This is one of the images I made here. It's a closeup of the neon tubes shot from under and side of the sign.

I cropped it to a Pano just to include the bottom part of the sign. Just a bit of editing in Lightroom Classic. Shot with my Olympus EM1- Mark III
At 1/25 sec, f/10, ISO 64, at 100mm with the 12-100mm Olympus lens.

I know it isn't, but your image makes me feel as if I am sitting in an oven. I think it is the beautifully bright orange color you captured. I know they were there, but I find the smudges on the neon tube a little distracting. I also think the crop was the way to go.   Posted: 07/21/2024 22:40:51

The Sign Museum is on my list of 'must sees'. Nice perspective shooting up; along with strong color it really helps hold the viewers interest. Would make a nice backdrop for SciFi credit reel.   Posted: 07/22/2024 23:35:24

Hi Nelson - I love your crop and use of strong colour. Pano was definitely the way to go. Lots of interest, you had a good eye. Like Bob, I think it has a cool sci-fi feel.   Posted: 07/24/2024 23:00:18

I've been here and taken several photos - but never a close up like this. Love it! Like your shallow depth of field and the colors are superb. I agree that cloning out the smudges in the center of the frame would be good. Nice capture!   Posted: 07/25/2024 16:44:33

Great sharpness and depth of field. The colors really draw your attention. I like the crop and the composition with the loop being well placed and the black area also well placed. Pano was a great choice as the area at the top is out of focus and not interesting. You captured the neon tubs in an unusual and interesting way. The smudges don't bother me, and maybe gives it some character.   Posted: 07/25/2024 20:38:00
