About the Image(s)

I love the black and white designs on the Paper Kite butterflies. I adjusted the contrast and did some dodging and burning on this image. Settings: f/6.3, !/100 sec., ISO 200 and 240 mm focal length.

Beautiful image Cindy, nice capture. Good sharpness on the head and eyes. Your dodging/burn torches look good and natural and add some depth to the image. The diagonal line formed between the two bunches of pink flowers make a nice leading line carrying the viewer through your image.   Posted: 05/06/2021 16:51:33

Beautiful capture. I like the contrast between the black and white butterfly and the colors of the garden around it. Overall, it feels dark to me. Butterflies are so light and airy. I would pull back on the vignette a little. Either lighten up the whole area or just make less vignette.   Posted: 05/11/2021 11:22:56

Cindy, I like that the butterfly fills up almost the entire frame. The small flowers balance the composition. I do think the image is a little too dark especially at the top of the butterfly's wings.   Posted: 05/13/2021 17:28:25

How do you get the birds and butterflies to pose for you? I can't even get my dog to look my way when I have a camera in hand.

Lighting on the subject and background are perfect for the colors, textures and patterns. Composition and focus captures my eye and I'm drawn into the action of the butterfly drinking.
