About the Image(s)
Camera settings: 43.00mm, 1/320sec, f/4.5, ISO50.
I was shooting birds outside on a sunny day, so had set fast speed and low ISO. This little one suddenly started crying sadly like her world was ending. I managed to capture the tears in her eyes and the forlorn expression.
I cropped in to focus on her face, and removed a couple of spots, which I felt were distracting. I darkened the background and used a curves layer to slightly lighten her eyes.

This photo effectively catches a strong emotion. One wonders what may have gone so wrong. the focus and lighting contribute to the strength of the story.   Posted: 10/02/2026 23:57:50

Wonderful capture! I like the close up composition that fills the frame. Your focus is wonderful and you tell a story - sad though it may be! Your timing was good as you caught the tears starting to spill.   Posted: 10/03/2026 14:22:01

I empathize with the baby! This photo makes me want to reach out and comfort them. Any photo that invokes a reaction like that is a good photo. The crop keeps the focus on the teary eyes. Nicely done.   Posted: 10/03/2026 15:25:46
