About the Image(s)

How I did it: This was a shot taken with Sony A7RV with a 24-105mm lens and no filters. I shot it manual at ISO 320 F8.0 1/320sec 63mm. It was exported using LightRoom and cropped from a bouquet of flowers at a street market. There didn't seem to be much noise and colors seemed fine so the only edit I made was to crop and rotate it so the bloom opened left to right rather than right to left in the bouquet.

When I took the photo I was concentrating on the bottom center bloom because the color was so vivid. There was too much greenery to the bottom so I angled the camera straight onto that flower avoiding the greenery and allowing the top blooms to recede in scale. My initial crop was the bottom center bloom and what I intended when taking the photo. That bloom was more vibrant and appealing initially however, I preferred the angle of the pistil in the bottom left bloom so made that my final crop. My preference is reading right to left so ended up rotating the bloom. If I were submitting this where color was the focus, I would use the initial crop but this crop ended up being more interesting to me.

Nice image and I like your crop; the flower seems to flow to the right. Nice detail and color. One thing I might suggest is to brighten up the center; maybe brighten those greens. But very nice and print worthy.   Posted: 04/17/2026 01:11:40
