About the Image(s)
I took this at local botanical garden. I loved the colors and the fuzz on the plant. Shot handheld with my Nikon D3200. I did post process in photoshop to get more clarity and cropped to the square.

Kia ora Jessica - this is a lovely close up, with just enough focus and detail, and a hint of what might be hiding in the centre ready to emerge. Your square crop is perfect, but I might like to see the composition slightly shifted, showing a bit more of the in-focus tip of the right-hand petal.
I agree with you that the colours are fantastic. The image as a whole holds a lot of interest!   Posted: 03/11/2025 15:28:59

Your details of the fuzz on the plant are excellent and you found a very interesting subject. I also like the square crop. I'm not usually a fan of light vignette's however I tried one on this and liked it. For me, the tips of petals intruding in from the borders are a little distracting and I thought this took care of it.   Posted: 03/14/2025 16:54:17
I agree with you, that the fuzz on the flower is great. The shape and colors of the flower are also very good. I like the square format, and I think that Cindy's light vignette is a good idea. I do wish that you would have had more depth of field so that more of the flower was sharp and showed more fuzz.   Posted: 03/19/2025 18:15:01
Reminds me of a Teddy Bear plant with all the fuzz. I like that you got most of the fuzz and the contrasting dark colors create good interest. Square format works well but can't say that I care for the white vignette; I realize that a dark vignette may be to much but wonder a vignette could be made using the same blue color as the leaves. As Cindy mentions, those hi lights in corners are a little distracting. Good job for hand holding.   Posted: 03/19/2025 19:36:54

Very interesting colors and textures. Simple and complex at the same time. It's fibonacci no doubt.   Posted: 03/30/2025 03:11:08
